Position:HSE Officer (Site-Based)Location:Huelva, SpainContract Duration:6 monthsStart Date:ASAPObjectives of the RoleEnsure health, safety, and environmental standards are consistently applied and enforced across all site activities.Act as a hands-on HSE presence, supporting construction and commissioning teams in real time.Contribute to a safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible project environment within a large-scale industrial development.Key ResponsibilitiesEnsure commissioning and construction activities comply with safety, health, hygiene, and environmental standards.Conduct safety inspections across high-risk activities including hot works, energization, work at height, blasting, and hazardous material handling.Manage and control permit-to-work systems (hot work, LOTO, confined space entry).Coordinate with the client’s HSE team on safety training, emergency procedures, and environmental controls.Monitor compliance with environmental regulations, including emissions, dust control, and waste management.Support continuous improvement of HSE performance through on-site engagement and proactive intervention.Required Skills & QualificationsPrevious experience as an HSE Officer or HSE Advisor on construction or industrial projects.Good knowledge of Spanish HSE regulations and EU safety standards.Experience within heavy industry, process plants, energy, or metals sectors is advantageous.Comfortable working in a site-based, hands-on role with direct interaction with supervisors and crews.Strong communication skills — able to remain clear, calm, and assertive in high-pressure situations.EU passport or legal right to work in Spain.Spanish and English language skills highly preferred.Preferred Skills & QualificationsExperience supporting commissioning phases in industrial projects.Familiarity with large-scale EPC project environments.Strong ability to influence site behaviours and promote a proactive safety culture.Project OverviewHigh-profile industrial project with a capital investment exceeding €300 million.Focused on sustainable processing of electronic scrap to produce copper.Site team of 50+ personnel, working alongside multiple subcontractors.Standard working hours aligned with Spanish labour regulations (typically 8:00–17:00, limited overtime).Strong emphasis on safety, sustainability, and environmental responsibility.What’s on OfferOpportunity to work on a strategic, sustainability-driven industrial project.Hands-on exposure alongside experienced HSE and engineering professionals.Competitive compensation package (rate to be confirmed).Valuable experience within a complex, fast-paced construction environment.
