Job Description
We are currently looking for a Director of Finance Business Partner to join our Executive team at Rosewood Villa Magna Madrid. The Director reports directly to the Managing Director and is responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the business, driving the hotel’s financial strategy, safeguarding assets, and ensuring optimal utilization of resources to maximize revenues and profitability. The role also ensures compliance with internal controls and procedures.
This position provides timely and accurate financial information and advice to hotel senior management and owners. The Director will ensure operations adhere to local and corporate policies and the terms of the Management Agreement.
Key Responsibilities
* Assess financial performance, risks, and investment opportunities for the hotel.
* Oversee all accounting and finance functions, including month-end procedures, receivables, cost control, income audit, cashiering, payables, and general ledger, in line with company policies.
* Identify and develop areas for business improvement, engaging stakeholders through analysis and planning.
* Coach and mentor the finance team to maintain high performance and engagement levels.
* Provide insights into hotel operations using sound financial knowledge to support leadership in maximizing profitability.
* Lead performance analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting.
* Ensure fixed assets are purchased according to budget, properly recorded, and accurately maintained in the ledger.
Candidate Profile
* Fluent communication skills in English and Spanish are preferred.
* Strong knowledge of managing complex budgets, financial analysis, and forecasting.
* Experience establishing processes and controls in hotel operations.
* Proven leadership in managing finance teams and stakeholder relationships, including external partners and owners.
* Attention to detail to ensure accuracy and quality.
* Knowledge of Spanish statutory accounting and fiscal regulations is advantageous.
* Minimum 3-5 years in a similar senior finance role, preferably in hospitality.
* Familiarity with SUN Systems, Birchstreet, Opera, and Simphony is a plus.
