**Primary Function and Scope**:
- The Funding & Proposal Officer is responsible for the preparation, coordination, and submission of funding proposals, mainly public (national, European, and international - including U.S. programs), and selectively private. The role focuses on the full pre-award lifecycle, from opportunity scouting to final submission, ensuring eligibility, compliance, coordination, and high-quality non-technical content.
- Once the project is granted, the Funding & Proposal Officer will be responsible for the financial and administrative management of funded R&D; projects, with a strong focus on justification, reporting, and compliance. ensures that granted projects are properly executed, reported, and justified in accordance with funding body and program requirements.
**Primary Functions**:
- Coordinate the preparation and consolidation of all non-technical proposal documentation (administrative, impact, implementation, ethics, gender, management sections, etc.).
- Support technical teams by collecting, structuring, and integrating non-scientific information into proposals.
- Act as the main point of contact with partners, coordinators, and funding authorities during the pre-award phase.
- Manage proposal timelines, deliverables, and internal coordination.
- Prepare, upload, and submit proposals through the relevant funding platforms.
- Ensure compliance with internal FPO & PMO procedures and documentation standards.
- Manage and coordinate the post-award phase of funded projects, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
- Prepare, coordinate, and submit technical and financial justification documentation for funded projects.
- Coordinate with Project Managers and finance to validate eligible costs and supporting documentation.
- Support audits, reviews, and clarification requests from funding bodies.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of FPO procedures and project management practices.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in **Engineering, Science, Business Administration, Economics, International Relations**, or related field.
- Training in **R&D; funding programs** (Horizon Europe, national funding schemes, international programs).
**Specific Training / Knowledge Required in**:
- Public funding ecosystems (EU, national, and international).
- Proposal preparation and submission processes.
- Eligibility rules, consortium structures, and compliance requirements.
- Strong written communication skills in English.
- Public funding rules and justification procedures.
- Financial and administrative reporting for R&D; projects.
**Additional Qualifications**:
- Project management or proposal management certification.
- Basic corporate business development knowledge
- Strong understanding of project lifecycles.
Minimum Required Experience:
- 1 - 2 years of experience in proposal preparation, funding management, or similar roles.
- 2 - 4 years of experience in project management.
