Bike Rental & Workshop Mechanic, Nice Cycling Hub

With the full support of the Hub Manager, the Bike Mechanic will be responsible for running a world-class professional workshop. This is a varied role offering freedom to develop quickly while maintaining the highest standards of workmanship. Training, guidance, and support will be provided at every stage. A passion for quality, efficiency, and teamwork is essential.

Responsabilidades

Work in a busy, professional-level workshop
2
Maintain the workshop to the highest visual and operational standards at all times
3
Design and maintain a clear, efficient workshop layout
4
Continuously develop the Hub workspace to improve workflow for the entire team
5
Define best working practices in collaboration with the Hub Manager
6
Create and implement workshop processes: (Quality control, rental bike procedures, Cleaning protocols, Bike wash & bike storage systems, etc)

Complete work efficiently and without distraction while supporting the second mechanic
8
Work as part of a strong, collaborative team, recognizing priority tasks
9
Ensure workshop parts are well stocked, sourcing best value or alternatives where needed
10
Work with the Hub Manager to improve workshop efficiency
11
Support achievement of workshop financial targets, including identifying upselling opportunities
12
Assist the wider team with technical knowledge to support bike and product sales
13
Promote cycling as a safe, reliable, and enjoyable mode of transport through high-quality workmanship
14
Inspect customer bicycles to identify mechanical issues
15
Stay up to date with the latest bike technology and repair techniques
Extras

Maintain and manage a high-end rental fleet of 100+ bikes, alongside a second mechanic
2
Ensure all rental bikes are: (Clean, Good mechanical conditions, Functional, Correct matched parts)

Perform safety checks and use service checklists for every rental
4
Prepare bikes for reservations and ensure readiness for customers
5
Meet and greet customers, ensuring they feel confident and comfortable on their rental bikes
6
Diagnose and repair faults such as worn components, broken parts, and misalignments
7
Perform routine maintenance including cleaning, lubrication, and adjustments
8
Assemble new bicycles from boxed kits
9
Replace or repair defective parts using specialist tools
10
Advise customers on maintenance, repairs, and potential upgrades
11
Test ride bikes after repairs to ensure safety and performance
12
Maintain accurate service and repair records
13
Order and manage inventory of parts and supplies
