The CRG is composed by an interdisciplinary, motivated and creative scientific team supported by a flexible and efficient administration and by high-end technologies. /ppIn April 2021, the CRG renewed the bHR Excellence in Research /b Award from the European Commission, recognizing the Institute's commitment to developing an HR Strategy for Researchers aligned with the bEuropean Charter for Researchers /b and the bCode of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers /b (Charter and Code). /ppPlease, check out our Recruitment Policy. /ppbThe role /b /ppWe are seeking a highly qualified and experienced professional to assume the role of Head of Facility Management who is excited by delivering timely and high-quality services in an international and dynamic scientific environment. Reporting directly to the Administrative Director, the Head of Facility Management is responsible for the maintenance and security of CRG spaces (around 10,000 m2 located in two sites: PRBB and Marenostrum Tower) and associated assets and equipment, as well as planning and building of new construction projects and refurbishments. They will provide leadership and management of the Facility Management team, comprising 9 staff members in total: 2 internal staff and 7 outsourced staff responsible for scientific maintenance, cleaning and sterilization, technical maintenance, waste management, and building maintenance. /ppThe successful candidate will work closely with the scientific community and Administration staff, in particular with CRG technical-related services responsible for purchasing of scientific equipment, IT, scientific-technical services and floor managers. /ppbMain duties and responsibilities /b: /pulliDesign and manage infrastructure and general services to ensure smooth operation of laboratories, units, and offices. /liliSupervise daily department operations (building and equipment maintenance and general services, construction and refurbishment works, emergency plan, sustainability) to deliver quality, timely and cost-effective services. /liliLead efforts to improve facility management processes, identify bottlenecks or improvement areas, and implement strategic solutions/projects on time, including energy, sustainability, scientific maintenance equipment and renovation plans. /liliManage the infrastructure and general services budget, including negotiations with providers, management of outsourced services, preparation and writing of technical documentation for public tenders related to infrastructure procurement, and maintenance of contracts within public procurement and funding agency regulations, ensuring cost effectiveness while maintaining high quality and service. /liliRecruit, train, and lead internal and outsourced staff, including the sterilization/cleaning team and maintenance technician. /liliRegularly check that Facility Management policies, procedures and service levels are properly implemented. /liliDevelop best practices and written documentation, and assess the department activity using KPIs. /liliOversee hazardous waste management and represent Facility Management in CRG committees (Technical, Occupational Risk Prevention, Sustainability) and external committees; serve as the Head of Emergencies for CRG. /liliMaintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and adapt policies and practices as needed. /li /ulpbAbout the department /b /ppThe Facility Management Department is responsible for the maintenance, security and emergency plan protocols of the CRG spaces (around 10,000 m2 located in two sites: PRBB and Marenostrum Tower) and associated assets and equipment, as well as planning and building of new construction projects, including refurbishments and modifications. /ppThe specific services offered include: /pulliMaintenance and general services of the spaces and equipment. /liliPlanning and building of new construction projects. /liliSustainability. /liliOther responsibilities include general services related to the building: gas, water, plumbing, electricity, cooling, heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, waste disposal, including biohazardous waste. /li /ulpbWhom would we like to hire? /b /ppbProfessional experience /b /ppbMust Have /b /pulliMinimum of 5 years of experience in a senior facility management role, preferably within an international research or academic environment. /liliProven experience in leading and managing teams. /liliKnowledge of Health Safety regulations and/or Emergency Plan protocols. /li /ulpbDesirable but not required / Nice to have /b /pulliKnowledge of public procurement processes. /li /ulpbEducation and training /b /pulliHigher education degree (or qualification) equivalent to a master’s degree in Facility Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related technical field. /liliSpecialised training in project management is a plus. /li /ulpbLanguages /b /pulliAdvanced level of English and Spanish, spoken and written. /liliCatalan will be an advantage. /li /ulpbTechnical skills /b /pulliExcellent command of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). /liliProficient in AutoCAD drawing software. /liliExperience with Microsoft Project software. /liliKnowledge of ERP (Oracle or SAP) will be an advantage. /liliSound knowledge in Spanish public tender legislation. /liliFamiliarity with Maintenance Management Systems or other ticketing systems is advantageous. /li /ulpbCompetences /b /pulliStrategic project and stakeholder management. /liliStrong organizational, multitasking, and negotiation skills. /liliAnalytical and solution-oriented mindset. /liliProfessional and empathetic communication with internal and external partners. /liliCalm, resilient, and adaptable under pressure. /liliCollaborative team player with the ability to work independently. /li /ulpbThe Offer – Working Conditions /b /pullibEstimated annual gross salary: /b Salary is commensurate with qualifications and consistent with our pay scales. /lilibTarget start date: /b As soon as possible. /li /ulpWe provide a highly stimulating environment with state-of-the-art infrastructures and unique professional career development opportunities.
