Environmental Resources Management (ERM) is seeking an experienced Ecotoxicology & Environmental Risk Assessment expert to join our well-respected team in Europe. ERM offers a comprehensive range of chemical regulatory consulting services including data gap analysis, study monitoring, risk assessment, dossier preparation and submission, and post-submission support. Working with clients in the agrochemical, chemical, and biocides sectors, this role is key in helping our clients achieve successful registration. Role responsibilities
1. Provide high-quality consultancy in ecotoxicology and environmental risk assessment to clients and ERM staff to meet regulatory and business needs.
2. Understand clients’ desired outcomes and collaborate to ensure deliverables meet quality standards.
3. Work closely with clients, represent ERM in meetings, and respond to specific ecotoxicology questions.
4. Contribute to business growth through participation in development activities such as client visits, conferences, and expert groups.
5. Evaluate and summarize ecotoxicology data, ecological risk assessments, and study monitoring, focusing on REACH requirements.
6. Stay updated on the latest developments in ecotoxicology and ecological risk assessment.
7. Collaborate with other ERM experts in environmental fate, mammalian toxicology, and ecotoxicology to maintain project awareness.
8. Define actions, utilize resources, and ensure project delivery on time and within budget, aligned with project goals.
9. Develop expertise in new EU regulatory developments relevant to the business.
10. Assist in the personal development of team members as appropriate.
11. Perform other scientific and administrative tasks as needed to benefit the business.
Skills & experience requirements
* Degree in Biology, Ecotoxicology, or a related field.
* Proven experience in conducting ecotoxicological risk assessments.
* Ability to design and conduct ecotoxicology studies.
* Strong knowledge of EU regulations and guidelines, including data requirements for ecotoxicology studies.
* Experience communicating with EU regulatory bodies and participating in expert meetings.
* Ability to work collaboratively across disciplines.
* Experience with dossier preparation and support using IUCLID, CHESAR, especially for REACH submissions.
* Commitment to delivering high-quality work exceeding client expectations.
* Adherence to health and safety protocols.
* Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
* Proficiency in ecotoxicology statistical analysis software is a plus.
* Experience with non-EU regulatory requirements (Latin America, North America, APAC) is an asset.
* Participation in advocacy groups is a plus.
