Then we have the perfect job for you! We are currently looking for an experienced, detail‑oriented individual to join our Data Center Engineering Operations Team. This committed group maintains critical physical infrastructure that supports our Data Center Organization. The Data Center Engineering Operations Technician (EOT) is responsible for operating and maintaining all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center. The EOT serves as a technical resource to support Amazon within its owned and operated data centers, ensuring mission‑critical servers maintain better than 99.999% uptime and driving innovation while reducing operational costs.Responsibilities- Assist in the operation and maintenance of all electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment within the Data Center/Facility.- Assist in maintenance and monitoring of all Data Center systems, including incidents/events, problems, changes, monitoring, and escalation/notification/resolution.- Monitor and troubleshoot all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems, voice/data, chiller systems, and generators.- Provide assistance to contractors or data center engineers to ensure proper operation and maintenance of all facility equipment covered under Level I and areas in which they are certified (e.G., fiber optic, electrical certification, HVAC repair, UPS, and generator certifications).- Assist in deploying new equipment, such as building racks, cabling, and other tasks as necessary.- Respond to internal rack customer maintenance, repair, and addition/expansion requests through the ticketing system.- Perform site walkthroughs to verify proper operation of facility equipment and monitoring systems.- Maintain changes in state in mission‑critical infrastructure to support corrective and preventive maintenance.- Review test quality, performance, safety, and reliability of products, equipment, and processes.Basic Qualifications- Technical (Military/Trade School) training or equivalent experience in the field.- Electrical qualification(s) necessary to operate low voltage equipment in accordance with German regulations (Elektrofachkraft).- Several years of relevant work experience, ideally within Data Center operations.- National of an EU member state.Preferred Qualifications- Several years of working within a data center.- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in an applicable engineering field or mechanical or electrical trades.- Certified electrician per German regulations.Amazon is an equal opportunities employer.
