Overview Global Commodity Manager for Application Management Services (m/f/d) – Siemens, Madrid, Community of Madrid, Spain.
Siemens is looking for a global commodity manager in Horizontal IT who will be responsible for strategic IT procurement activities, mainly Application Management Services (AMS), aiming for optimum conditions on an excellent supplier base through pooling volumes and common strategies. Strong and close alignment with Global Commodity Management is required. The role requires the ability to develop and maintain key relationships across the Siemens organization, establish and manage supplier relationships, and interact effectively with Siemens’ management. The ideal candidate must be able to self-manage workload, handle multiple projects in parallel, set target dates, meet deadlines, follow processes, develop a roadmap of projects, and implement projects to achieve optimum results.
Location: Madrid, Spain.
Responsibilities Develop and execute sourcing strategies for IT commodities, with emphasis on Application Management Services (AMS) and related IT consulting and software domains.
Improve and evolve the IT value sourcing concept and the AMS sourcing strategy in alignment with IT strategy and regional requirements.
Derive the best possible sourcing strategy for technologies based on IT strategy and collaborate with regions/country procurements to translate global strategy into local needs.
Act as demand manager in stakeholder/customer management, defining participation levels and an engagement plan across audiences.
Lead supplier management including supplier selection, 360° reviews of IT value sourcing suppliers, and promotion of supplier development with IT stakeholders.
Conduct annual price negotiations for rate cards in selected countries and manage tenders and negotiations for projects; update or extend master agreements as needed.
Promote strategic projects with global impact to industrialize AMS procurement, conduct pilots, and support regional roll-outs.
Qualifications Degree in industrial engineering, business informatics, business administration or a comparable qualification and/or relevant experience.
Professional experience in IT procurement or a related function, ideally in a multinational environment.
Deep knowledge of the IT provider market in software engineering, IT consulting, and Application Management Services (AMS).
Experience in procurement processes and familiarity with Siemens’ internal procurement tools and workflows.
Ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels and across cultures; clear and assertive communication in English and German.
Strong critical thinking, anticipation of challenges, and ability to propose innovative solutions.
Forward-looking, comfortable with emerging technologies including AI, and understanding their impact on IT sourcing, supplier performance, cost optimization, and procurement effectiveness.
