Senior AI Engineer - HealthTech - EU/Remote - up to €150k
Be part of a visionary health-tech team building industry-leading AI that genuinely augments clinical care rather than replaces it. Our client’s flagship product helps healthcare professionals manage routine workloads, such as follow-ups, patient communications and care coordination, so they can focus on complex, life-changing care. Backed by seasoned healthcare innovators and impact investors, their mission tackles a projected global shortfall of up to 18 million healthcare workers and aims to make quality care more accessible and efficient worldwide.
Role Overview
You’ll join as a Senior AI Engineer – crafting the advanced multi-agent LLM systems that power a clinician-facing AI assistant used across clinical and administrative workflows.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead development and operation of the core AI “brain,” including architecture, latency expectations, SLAs and rollout strategy.
* Create and maintain low-latency real-time text and voice interactions between agents and users.
* Build sophisticated routines for multistage reasoning and agent orchestration (e.g., planner-executor-critic patterns).
* Improve retrieval systems, optimize prompts, structure embeddings, and develop mechanisms to reduce hallucination.
* Integrate observability, traceability, evaluation and safety-first guardrails into production systems.
* Work in cross-functional teams, ensuring robust collaboration with engineering, clinical, QA and security partners.
Qualifications
* Significant production experience with ML and backend engineering, especially systems involving large language models.
* Expert proficiency in Python and backend frameworks (e.g., FastAPI), with a focus on real-world performance and observability.
* Hands-on expertise in real-time systems (text/voice) and agent orchestration patterns.
* Practical understanding of vector retrieval, prompt optimisation and evaluation-driven model improvement.
* Experience with cloud deployment, telemetry, monitoring and CI/CD workflows in production contexts.
Nice-to-have: familiarity with healthcare-regulated data environments and standards (e.g., HIPAA/GDPR/SOC2), and audio-streaming tech (WebRTC/LiveKit).
If you’re driven by the idea of building real-time, safety-centric AI that directly eases clinical workloads and improves patient experience at scale, we’d love to talk to you.
