Johnson Controls–Hitachi Air Conditioning was established on October 1st, 2015 as a joint venture between Hitachi Appliances, Inc. (now Hitachi Global Life Solutions, Inc.) and Johnson Controls, Inc. Hitachi Appliances carved out and contributed its air conditioning business to the Joint Venture. Johnson Controls acquired a 60% stake of the carved-out business and Hitachi Global Life Solutions, Inc. continues as a 40% shareholder of this venture.

Designer Engineer
What you will do
The Design Engineer will be engaged in New Product Developments working as part of the Design team, managing and designing requirements of the new developments together with internal teams as well as overseas engineering teams when necessary. The role of a design engineer also includes preparing development design briefs, identifying risks and impacts ahead, and defining design solutions to achieve product requirements.
How you will do it
* Lead design engineering activities related to new product developments.
* Analyze and propose design solutions for such new products.
* Ensure the schedule and action plan definition aligned with project development requirements.
* Receive and adopt all the new information from specific R&D teams about the plans and impacts of the design related to the product.
* Contact window for several activities as well as improvement suggestions or requirements from other departments, evaluating and applying the proposal when necessary.
* Support the quality of the newly created materials (3D and 2D drawings as well as BOM information and operation) and its communication to other departments.
* Actively participate in the research of new components due to new suppliers developments or alternative parts solutions, and their application in the design.
What we are looking for
* Mechanical or Industrial engineering degree.
* Minimum 3 years of similar experience.
