Senior Data Engineer
Location: Remote from Spain (an indefinite Spanish employment contract)

As a Data Engineer on a Digital Healthcare Team, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of data solutions serving consumer-centric and healthcare professional-focused digital tools aimed at enhancing medication adherence and achieving optimal health outcomes. This role requires strong cross-functional collaboration and technical expertise to ensure the successful delivery of initiatives while optimizing program performance and alignment with business objectives.

The Digital Healthcare Team seeks a skilled and driven Data Engneer to drive and support the development and launch of innovative digital care and life management programs targeting diabetes and other chronic conditions. We are building a comprehensive digital health platform that empowers patients with chronic conditions and their informal caregivers to manage health journeys more effectively together. Our platform combines multiple modular services into a seamless ecosystem that bridges the gap between clinical care and daily life management.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Data Engineer with an understanding of data architecture principles, practices, and technologies.
* 6+ years of overall development experience.
* 4+ years of experience with AWS, DWH services & cloud storages
* Experience with Databricks
* Experience with at least one programming language (Python, Java, etc.)
* Experience building DWH and data lakes, designing ELT / ETL processes
* Strong knowledge of Big Data, NoSQL, and RDBMS.
* Understanding of data governance, data management, and data quality concepts.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data requirements and translate them into practical data architecture solutions.
* Proficiency in data modeling tools.
* Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively interact with business stakeholders and technical teams.
* At least B2 level of English.
Will be a plus:
* Experience with DataOps, data mesh etc.
* Experience in developing data science, analytics, and AI/ML solutions with Databricks.
* Clinical HealthCare experience in the US market
Responsibilities:
* Development of federated data management and federated learning systems to support the scalability of our digital health platform and to support patient ownership and control of healthcare data.
* Design and create conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
* Follow data standards, data governance policies, and data management processes to ensure data quality, consistency, and security throughout the organization.
* Implement data security and access controls to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with data privacy regulations.
* Document data architecture artifacts, including data models, data flow diagrams, and system integrations.
* Collaborate with business stakeholders, data analysts, and technical teams to understand and analyze data requirements and translate them into data architecture solutions.
* Collaborate with product, engineering, clinical, and behavioral science teams to develop actionable insights and intelligent features within patient- and caregiver-facing digital tools.
* Stay up to date with emerging data technologies and trends and evaluate their potential impact on the organization's data architecture.
