We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Business Development Trainee to join our team in Madrid. This internship is ideal for a recent graduate interested in gaining hands-on experience in commercial strategy, market analysis, and project development within the infrastructure sector. Under the guidance of the Director of Strategy, the trainee will support various stages of project development and proposal preparation, while learning about public-private partnerships (P3), procurement processes, and strategic planning.
Key Responsibilities
1. Assist in preparing project summaries and documentation during early procurement stages.
2. Support the coordination of proposal-related activities, including organizing kick-off meetings, tracking action items, and maintaining calendars and checklists.
3. Collaborate with internal departments (Finance, Technical, Legal) and Ferrovial Construction to gather relevant information for Requests for Information (RFIs), Requests for Qualifications (RFQs), and Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
4. Help draft and review proposal content, ensuring alignment with procurement guidelines.
5. Participate in internal meetings and assist in scheduling, preparing agendas, and taking notes.
6. Conduct market research on upcoming infrastructure opportunities and monitor relevant legislative updates.
7. Assist in preparing internal presentations and reports to update stakeholders on project progress.
8. Learn to interpret financial models and feasibility studies to understand project viability.
9. Support the team in organizing logistics and production of deliverables.
10. Perform other support tasks as needed across the Business Development team.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
11. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Economics, or a related field (recent graduates or final-year students).
12. Strong communication skills in English (C1–C2) and Spanish (C1-C2) - required.
13. Interest in infrastructure, public-private partnerships, and strategic business development.
14. Proactive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to work in a collaborative environment.
15. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
16. Strong organizational and analytical skills.
