The role:

Position activities:

GTD Science, Infrastructures & Robotics is looking for a versatile Control System Engineer to participate in Big Science projects (ITER, IFMIF,...), with focus on fast control systems, fast acquisition systems, and other real-time control applications.

The projects involve system design, software, firmware, and FPGA development.

The ideal candidate is not expected to be an expert in all areas, but should bring solid basic knowledge across all domains and a stronger specialization in one of them, in a true T-shaped profile.

As a Control System Engineer, you will participate in the design, development, integration, and validation of complex control and acquisition systems for scientific and industrial applications. Typical activities include:

* Design and implement I&C solutions for real-time control systems.
* Develop software components in C/C++ for data processing, control, and system integration.
* Contribute to firmware and FPGA development for critical real-time functions.
* Define or support architecture, specifications, procedures, and test documentation.
* Integrate software, firmware, and hardware subsystems.
* Participate in system testing, validation, and acceptance activities, including FAT and SAT.
* Develop scripts and utilities to support automation, testing, and data processing.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and interface with customer and project stakeholders.

Requisitos:

Mandatory Requirements:

The successful candidate should have a solid transversal understanding of:

* Systems engineering concepts.
* Real-time concepts in hardware and software.
* Fast controllers, acquisition systems, and embedded systems.
* Software development in C/C++.
* Basic knowledge of FPGA/firmware development and real-time hardware integration.
* GNU/Linux operating systems.
* Technical documentation and structured engineering work.
* Version control tools.

Nice-to-have Requirements:

Additional knowledge in the following areas will be considered an advantage:

* Scripting languages.
* UML and MBSE.
* CI/CD or DevOps practices.

Tools:

* System Engineering: Microsoft Office, Enterprise Architect
* OS: Windows, Linux (Alma, Ubuntu, RedHat)
* Programming & Scripting: C, C++, Python, Bash, TCL, VUnit
* FPGA Development: Lattice Diamond, Xilinx Vivado IDE, ModelSim, QuestaSim
* Version control & Project Management: Git, SVN, Jira
