We have created the Global Compliance & Reporting service to serve clients across Europe, with teams, processes, and technology that enables multinational groups to meet their accounting, tax, payroll, and legal obligations both locally and internationally. This service is delivered from our Center of Excellence (CoE).
The Global Quality and Risk Management (QRM) pillar is a key part of Forvis Mazars' global strategic plan. Our CoE is looking for a Compliance Officer with German language skills located in Barcelona to assist and report directly to the Country Acceptance & Compliance Officer.
You will be a well-organized, internationally-minded professional with relevant experience in process and controls work and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in managing the firm's acceptance and onboarding processes.
* Support addressing ethical and independence matters at the firm level.
* Conduct risk assessments, including KYC/AML, international sanctions, and cryptocurrency sector-related matters.
* Participate in monitoring activities and quality control works.
* Support drafting reports related to compliance, risk management, and quality assurance.
Requirements:
* Strong interest in compliance, risk management, and regulatory matters.
* Knowledge of KYC/AML procedures, international sanctions, and the cryptocurrency sector.
* Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and German; French is a plus.
* Strong communication skills with a service-oriented mindset, ensuring availability and responsiveness to team needs and providing support aligned with business objectives.
Experience:
* Previous professional experience, preferably in consulting or a professional services environment.
* Educational background in Law Compliance or Audit.
* International mindset - able to engage and collaborate with stakeholders across the international network, with strong networking capabilities and good communication skills.
* Innovative thinking - with strong problem-solving skills and an interest in becoming a technical expert on quality management and risk assessment techniques.
* Policy management, including policy management tools.
* English required to a high standard - both written and oral. German would be very useful.
