Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a fast-paced technology company and a leader in the data center space. We are expanding our network deployment team and are seeking a proven technology manager with experience in people management, strong technical understanding, and the drive to elevate AWS data centers. The successful candidate will create sustainable processes and standards to reduce delivery cycle times and improve quality without impacting network availability.
The mission of the team is to deliver network capacity on time with zero rework. The Network Deployment Manager will manage the implementation and delivery of inbound capacity and equipment. This role will oversee a growing team and be responsible for their development and growth. The candidate will lead projects, manage and mentor people, and collaborate to deliver technical solutions. This manager will install and deliver our network equipment and related infrastructures and drive low voltage structured cabling across the Amazon data center platform.
Key responsibilities Managing a team of technicians responsible for installation and deployment of new network systems and projects.
Prioritize and assign tasks to data center technicians and operators, project management, coaching and creating documentation.
Manage inbound capacity from receiving through deployment stages.
Manage the installation network and cabling infrastructure in a data center environment.
Guide, train and educate staff on best practices related to all service owner issues.
Manage tasks and deliverables across small to large-size projects.
Recommend, document, and oversee policies and procedures to meet industry best practices and SLAs.
Coordinate team resources to support project and delivery needs, including emergency projects, change management, maintenance windows, and potential off-hours/on-call needs.
Recruit and train data technicians to ensure appropriate staffing levels.
Drive compliance to Amazon performance management requirements.
Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree, or 3+ years of equivalent experience
2+ years of Information Technology (IT) experience
2+ years of management/team lead function experience
Preferred Qualifications Experience with network hardware: copper and optical fiber cabling, switches, routers
Experience with Lean/Six Sigma
Knowledge of cabling best practices

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
