About BSC: The Barcelona Supercomputing Center – Centro Nacional de Supercomputación (BSC‑CNS) is the leading supercomputing centre in Spain. Context and Mission
The communication team’s mission is to publicise BSC and its activities through the centre’s own channels (web, social networks, corporate materials, visits to MareNostrum) and media, and to participate in events to strengthen public awareness of science and technology. The team also manages internal communication.
In this context, we seek an AI Communication and Dissemination Officer to strategically create and implement communication activities that promote AI‑related projects, research findings, and innovations. The chosen candidate will work closely with researchers, external partners and the BSC project dissemination unit to communicate relevant research activities to the public, industry and the scientific community.
Key Duties
Contribute to corporate storytelling across thought leadership, corporate campaigns and flagship initiatives, ensuring consistent and compelling messaging with a strong focus on artificial intelligence.
Help develop the BSC AI Communication Strategy, creating innovative, audience‑focused materials that drive engagement and impact.
Position BSC as a reference centre in HPC and AI research by organising institutional events or communication actions.
Develop and execute communications and dissemination initiatives, including audience identification, key messaging, material creation, tracking metrics and reporting.
Maintain close contact with Principal Investigators and identify results to be communicated.
Provide and maintain relations with key stakeholders, project leadership and external partners.
Liaise with representatives from funding bodies and related projects.
Plan, execute and attend project meetings and events.
Recommend innovative solutions for awareness campaigns, events and outreach.
Identify suitable forums to communicate initiatives and disseminate projects.
Requirements
Education
Bachelor degree in communications, journalism or a technological field.
Master’s degree in corporate communication and/or specific courses is a plus.
Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience
At least 2 years of experience in science communications.
Experience in dissemination and communication activities for European and national projects, including outreach strategy development, stakeholder engagement, and communication material preparation.
Experience in Artificial Intelligence projects or initiatives.
Additional Knowledge and Professional Experience
Fluency in spoken and written English, Spanish and Catalan.
Basic knowledge of photo and video editing software.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including editorial skills.
Knowledge of basic AI and large‑language‑model research.
Competences
Project management and prioritisation abilities.
Strong writing, storytelling and presentation skills.
Problem‑solving initiative.
Ability to work independently and coordinate closely with a team.
Ability to work under deadlines.
Conditions
Location: BSC, Management Department.
Full‑time contract (35 h/week) with a highly stimulating environment, state‑of‑the‑art infrastructure, flexible hours, extensive training plan, restaurant tickets, private health insurance and relocation support.
Contract duration: open‑ended, linked to project and budget duration.
Holidays: 22 days of annual leave, 6 personal days, plus 24 and 31 December per collective agreement.
Salary: competitive and commensurate with qualifications, experience and cost of living in Barcelona.
