Overview Government Relations Manager, Campaigns, Public Policy DACH – Based in Berlin. You will play a critical role in developing campaigns that advocate for effective, customer-centric policies in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. You will apply policy expertise in digital, consumer, economic and competition policy and related topics, monitor policy and legislative developments, and identify issues relevant to the business. You will work with internal business, policy, communications and legal teams as well as policymakers, industry stakeholders, academics, and advocacy groups to advance the policy conversation on how to better serve and innovate for customers.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience in public policy advocacy and campaigning, a solid understanding of the policy landscape, the ability to manage multiple policy-focused campaigns across different matters simultaneously, and the ability to effectively communicate complex issues to diverse audiences. The position will be based in Berlin.
Key responsibilities Policy Advocacy: Lead advocacy efforts focused on effective, customer-centric policies, including legislative and regulatory initiatives.
Research and Analysis: Develop and conduct thorough research and analysis on policy issues, including market trends, economic impacts, and legal frameworks.
Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with policymakers, industry leaders, think tanks, and other advocacy groups to enable continued innovation on behalf of customers.
Messaging and Communications: Develop compelling policy briefs and reports that ensure messaging is clear and aligned with organizational goals.
Collaborate with other organizations and interest groups as needed to support policy outcomes.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Education: A degree in economics, law, political science, public policy, or a related field.
Experience: Relevant experience in public policy, advocacy, or government relations.
Expertise: Strong knowledge of competition policy frameworks, and related legal and economic concepts.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German and English, with the ability to convey complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
Experience working in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
Ability to work at pace, prioritising competing demands.
A passion for fair competition and consumer protection, with a strong commitment to public policy advocacy.
