DESCRIPTION
The legal counsel, or general counsel, represents the organization in legal disputes. They advise executives and/or the Board of Directors 1 on legal matters related to the organization's business activities (for example, government regulations, contracts, property, taxes, labor. They report directly to the Head of Compliance
**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES /DUTIES**
'- Draft and manage legal documents
- Oversee all legal aspects of the business
- Offer legal guidance and advice to management
- Look for creative solutions and support on legal issues
- Review and negotiate a diverse range of agreements
- Coordinate European legal documentation
- Assist on corporate processes
**REQUIREMENTS**:
**EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS**:
A law degree from an accredited law school is required, and we positively value any additional bachelor's degree (for example, in accounting, finance, or business administration. Admission to the Bar Association of (name of the state is also required.
**KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS**:
- Knowledge of legal, corporate, and administrative procedures, as well as the relationship with registries, notaries, and auditors, among others.
- Experience in drafting and reviewing commercial contracts, as well as international law regarding them.
- Knowledge of the insurance sector is a plus.
**PREFERRED WORK EXPERIENCE**:
5 years of experience in Legal department of a regulated corporation/company (if possible an insurance company
**OTHER REQUIREMENTS**:
- Good communication skills.
- Flexibility and positive attitude.
- Knowledge of Insurance.
- English (C1 level.
- Professional certifications are an advantage.
