Jornada:
The job is about guiding our groups of customers through the world of our local gastronomy by taking them on the tours that have been designed by Food Lover Tour. The guide/host will take our customers to several bars and restaurants that have previously been selected. The guide will be sharing knowledge about the local culture and the local gastronomy but will also have to make sure each guest feels comfortable and tended to. Ideally, we are looking for a person who is "self-employed" and can work as an independent guide.
The candidate must be fluent in English. Other languages would be highly appreciated but English is 100% compulsory. If you don't feel like having a 3 hour conversation with English speakers, this is probably not the right job for you.
At Food Lover Tour we value life experience very highly. We are looking for someone who is used to other cultures and is comfortable with all customers.
- The candidate must be a real foodie just like our guests. Enjoying and really understanding food is key to being a successful guide.
- Candidate must have a good knowledge of the city of Malaga (traditions and history).
- Candidate must be a local or a person who has been living in Malaga for several years.
- Candidate must be easy going, empathetic, gregarious and passionate. Keep in mind that this job is about giving clients a great experience;
the places we go and the food we eat are important, but so is making the clients feel comfortable and entertained.
- Ideally, we are looking for someone who already has a professional activity, as this is a part‑time job.
- Commitment is important: our guides are asked to do between 1 and 3 tours per week depending on the season.
- No experience in the sector is necessary, we will provide the candidate with adequate training.
