About The Job
You will start as an Editorial Trainee working closely with our Managing Editors to learn the process of handling papers from submission to publication.
We seek individuals passionate about disseminating scientific knowledge and motivated to contribute to open access publishing. Our office is in Barcelona, and this is a full-time, office-based position.
Depending on your background, you will be assigned to a relevant field. We are particularly interested in candidates with education in: Geosciences, Earth Science, Geography, Aerospace Engineering, Surveying & Mapping, Automation, Control Systems, Fire Protection & Exploration, Ecology, Environmental Science, and Energy Fuels.
Responsibilities
* Support the editorial process for academic research journals in your expertise area.
* Contact experts and organize peer reviews for submitted manuscripts, ensuring timely completion.
* Manage email communications related to the publication process.
* Format manuscripts according to in-house standards, adhering to deadlines.
* Collaborate with the editorial and production teams to ensure smooth operations and timely publication.
* Monitor research developments in your discipline and assist in achieving journal development goals.
Requirements
* Master’s or PhD in relevant fields; PhD is a plus.
* Proficiency in MS Office applications.
* Excellent communication skills in Spanish and English.
* Ability to multitask with high attention to detail.
* Strong organizational and time management skills.
* Experience in scholarly publishing is advantageous but not required.
* Legal authorization to work in Spain and residency in Spain.
