Title: seeking screenwriter – festival-ready - a job post by Julia Dabrowska
This project is a true collaboration — the screenwriter will work closely with me as co-producer and lead actor. Must be open to ideas, feedback, and creative input from the team. Able to adapt and collaborate on characters, dialogue, and scenes while maintaining the story's emotional core. Passionate about festival-focused, character-driven storytelling and committed to crafting a script that.
Project Overview
Off Schedule is a visually stunning, emotionally powerful coming-of-age indie. A Seventeen-year-old girl has spent more of her life in hospitals than at home. When her illness worsens, she quietly stops treatment and begins living on her own terms — defying boundaries, reconnecting with her little sister, and rediscovering freedom and love with Simon, the boy who has always cared for her.
This story is raw, cinematic, and character-driven, exploring themes of agency, love, family, and the fleeting moments that define a life. Key sequences include intimate family dynamics, tender moments between her and her younger sister and visually striking scenes like dancing in the rain, a celebration of freedom, vulnerability, and connection.
