About the area:
We help the business define and develop the growth and transformation strategic agenda of Global Markets, leading the strategic definition process and acting as an enabler for its development and implementation. Whenever required, S&BD leads or participates in regulatory projects to ensure GM’s compliance. We also run BBVA’s index administration, key for the development of QIS business. And, of course, we are available to take part in any new project or requirement where we can help the business.
About the role:
* Collaborate with the GM Strategy & Business Development Head in defining the business strategy, business plans, budgets and financial forecasts for the GM unit.
* Participate in the analysis and monitoring of GM activity by supervising the elaboration of periodic ad-hoc presentations and dashboards.
* Contribute in the GM budgeting process, channeling the communication between GM business/ geographies and Finance CIB along the process.
* Cooperate in the design of GM employees’ Scorecard ensuring metrics and targets are aligned with GM strategy.
* Assist GM Strategy & Business Development Head in managing GM organizational structure and staff. Close collaboration with Talent & Culture CIB for monitoring and coordinating the different HR processes/ projects.
* Collaborate in GM internal and external communication working together with Communication CIB and Marketing & Advertising CIB.
* Participate in the interaction with Finance CIB for analysing and monitoring GM costs, with focus on improving the unit efficiency and cost containment via cost control initiatives for GM.
* Provide market insight on GM activity worldwide as well as competitors'activity to identify and explore new business opportunities.
* Seek optimization of internal processes related to GM ́s activity.
* Collaborate closely with the CIB Regulation Desk in communicating and explaining new rules/ regulatory requirements to GM units.
* Delegate tasks amongst his/ her team based on their product specialization, seniority and workload. Follow up and supervision of all on-going unit activity.
* Participate in the strategic and pipeline committees of GM and CIB units.
* Manage all staffing issues alongside GM Strategy & Business Development Head and CIB HR.
* Report to the GM Strategy & Business Development Head on a periodic and ad-hoc basis about main unit projects and performance indicators.
What are we looking for?
Academic Background and Previous Experience:
* Academic background in engineering and economics is desirable.
* At least five years of experience in a financial role is required.
* Experience working in a consultancy is highly recommended.
* A strong background in capital markets is essential.
* Programming skills are highly desirable.
* A quantitative mindset is essential.
Languages:
* Fluent in Spanish.
* Fluent in English.
