Our cucumber breeding team is dedicated to developing new cucumber varieties for the world's most important production areas. As a Variety Specialist breeding, you are a member of the Breeding team, you will contribute to the development of competitive cucumber varieties, working closely with colleagues:
- Product development for different cucumber types, contributing to the definition and continuous improvement of the portfolio.
- Support and further development of the breeding program adapted to Mediterranean climate conditions.
- Coordination and follow-up of trials, including planning, execution and evaluation across different locations.
- Phenotyping and data collection to support selection and breeding decisions.
- Data-driven analysis and team-based decision making in close collaboration with breeding colleagues and other departments.
- Active collaboration with other Rijk Zwaan subsidiaries and willingness to travel for trial follow-up and market interaction.
We are seeking an assistant breeding with:
- Degree Agriculture
- At least 5 years of experience as a Technician or in Product Development, preferably within breeding or horticultural environments.
- Proactivity and self-motivation
- Know-how of product development
- Good communication skills
- Affinity with data analysis
- Good knowledge of Spanish and English
Besides an academic level of thinking, we are looking for a very practical candidate who is not afraid of dirty hands and feet in the field.
