Offer Description
Our goal is to understand the molecular mechanisms that drive cell-cell communication in aggressive childhood cancers, focusing on the UNC5 interaction network in neuroblastoma (NB) and other pediatric tumours. We employ multidisciplinary approaches, including cell-based assays, profiling experiments (e.g., high-resolution mass spectrometry proteomics), and structure-based tools to target specific protein complexes in vitro and in vivo. This ERC Synergy project involves collaboration with labs from the University of Oxford and Lyon.
The candidate will join Dr. Daniel del Toro's lab, supported by three PhD students and a technician, located in the Biomedicine Department at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Barcelona.
Gross salary: €40,500 per year.

Minimum Requirements
* PhD in Neurodevelopment, cancer biology, or a related field.
* Experience with animal experimentation, including cell implantation in mouse models; expertise in in utero electroporation is a plus.
* Proficiency in tissue sample processing, cryostat or vibratome use, and immunofluorescence staining.
* Experience in molecular biology, omics techniques, and cell culture.
* Experience in imaging acquisition and analysis (e.g., ImageJ, Cell Profiler).
* Excellent English skills in speaking, writing, and presenting scientific data.
* Interest in collaborative networks.
* Certificate in Animal Handling for Medical Experiments per Order ECC 566/2015, including care, euthanasia, surgery, and welfare of mice.
Languages: ENGLISH (Excellent), SPANISH (Basic), CATALAN (Basic)

Additional Information
Eligibility criteria are based on CV adequacy, experience, and suitability for the research tasks, scored out of 100 with a minimum of 70 points required.
The selection may include an interview. Required documents: CV with references, PhD at the time of contract formalization.
Contract duration: 12 months, renewable until 28/02/2031. Candidates must accept the offer within 3 working days of notification.
Priority given to people with disabilities (Law 89/2015, reserve of 2%).
Starting date is tentative, depending on bureaucratic processes.
