Join Henry Schein as a Buyer supporting our South Africa operations, ensuring seamless supply chain management while contributing to our mission of improving healthcare worldwide.
Your Role: The Buyer is responsible for purchasing materials, supplies, and equipment, negotiating with suppliers, monitoring inventory, and maintaining optimal stock levels.
You will manage supplier relationships, ensure compliance with ISO and regulatory standards, and support internal teams with forecasts, risk assessments, and process improvements.
Key Responsibilities: Manage end-to-end procurement of assigned goods, including purchase orders, invoices, and supplier communications.
Monitor inventory levels and demand forecasts to avoid shortages and overstock.
Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers.
Conduct market research and identify new suppliers.
Ensure supplier compliance with quality, certification, and business standards.
Collaborate with sales, marketing, and inventory teams to align purchasing with business needs.
Support monthly S&OP meetings, reporting, and special projects.
Manage product lifecycle, vendor returns, seasonal supplier shutdowns, and stock quality issues.
Ensure compliance with import/export regulations, trade agreements, and company policies.
Lead cost-reduction initiatives, process improvements, and risk mitigation activities.
Qualifications & Experience: Strong ERP (NAVISION) and Microsoft Office skills.
Knowledge of Business Central ERP is a plus.
Fluent English (Professional or Bilingual level) required Minimum >5 years of experience purchasing medical devices.
Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain, Procurement, or related field.
Solid knowledge of ISO standards and logistics regulations.
Customs and freight/logistics experience.
Proven success in supplier negotiations and supplier performance management.
Excellent analytical, communication, and multitasking skills.
Detail-oriented, goal-driven, self-motivated, and able to work under pressure.

Additional Requirements: Driver's license B preferred.
Availability for occasional national and international travel.
Knowledge of dental products and applicable regulations is a plus.
Location & Work Mode: Madrid, Spain – Hybrid (1 week in the office / 1 week remote).
Working Hours: Monday to Thursday: 08:00 – 17:30 Friday: 08:00 – 14:00 What We Offer: Salary range: €30,000 – €35,000 base, plus an annual bonus of 10–15% based on performance and value.

Summer intensive schedule (July & August)- Monday to Thursday: 8:00-15:00 Flexible working hours.
Meal card: €94.50/month (January–November).
