Job Title: FAT Witness / Inspection Engineer – Manual Valves

We are looking for an experienced FAT Witness / Inspection Engineer to support upcoming Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) for manual valves at vendor facilities in Tarragona, Spain. The selected inspector will act as the Client/Contractor representative during FAT activities, ensuring that all inspections and tests are performed in accordance with approved project specifications, applicable standards, and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Review FAT documentation prior to inspection, including:
Inspection and Test Plans (ITP)
Datasheets
Drawings
Technical specifications
Applicable project requirements
Attend Factory Acceptance Tests at vendor premises in Spain.
Witness and verify inspection and testing activities, including:
Visual inspection
Dimensional inspection
Pressure and leakage tests
Functional operation of manual valves
Verify compliance with approved specifications, project requirements, and applicable standards.
Review inspection records, certificates, and test reports.
Identify, document, and report any non-conformities, deviations, or technical concerns.
Liaise with vendor representatives and project stakeholders during inspection activities.
Prepare and submit a detailed FAT inspection report, including clear acceptance status and/or recommendations.
Requirements
Proven experience as a FAT Witness Inspector, Inspection Engineer, QA/QC Inspector, or similar role.
Strong experience with manual valves inspection and testing.
Good knowledge of FAT procedures, inspection documentation, and quality control requirements.
Familiarity with relevant international standards and codes related to valves, pressure testing, and industrial equipment.
Ability to review technical documentation such as ITPs, datasheets, drawings, and specifications.
Experience attending inspections at vendor or manufacturer premises.
Strong reporting skills, with the ability to prepare clear and professional inspection reports.
Ability to identify non-conformities and provide clear technical recommendations.
Fluent in English. Spanish language skills are an advantage.
Preferred Qualifications
Engineering degree or technical diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
Relevant inspection certifications are an advantage.
Previous experience in Oil & Gas, Energy, Water, Industrial, or EPC projects.
Experience with valve manufacturers or vendor inspection assignments in Europe.
