We are looking for a Data Engineer to join our team. The role will be responsible for supporting database operational needs, and maintaining / implementing data pipelines for Coniq’s growing data product catalog. Coniq is a very dynamic company, and you will have the opportunity to be part of a revolutionary strategy that will allow Coniq to provide the best data products to our clients.
This is a hybrid role based in Barcelona, Spain. You will be part of a cross-functional team of Data Analysts and Data Engineers, reporting to the Data Lead.
Job Requirements
Required
* You have managed High Volume, Highly Available databases in a multi-tenancy setup.
* You are highly proficient in creating, optimising and maintaining SQL queries and processes - including triggers and stored procedures.
* You understand how different types of databases work and their limitations.
* You have designed and maintained processes to replicate, transfer and project data between different databases and storage technologies.
* You have worked in or with an application development team in an operational system and understand its particular needs.
* You have experience working with Data Warehouses and / or Data Lakes.
* You have experience with ETL / ELT jobs using Airflow or any other similar tooling.
* You have solid scripting experience in Python, bash or a similar scripting language.
* You have experience with data streaming solutions for data projection and synchronization.
* You have experience with AWS Data Ecosystem (Redshift, Glue, Athena, Kinesis, etc).
* You have performed Data Quality checks with tools such as Great Expectations.
* Capable of working independently, identifying problems and solutions and planning for future improvements.
* Great team player, used to working with the team and with other departments in a collaborative and goal-oriented environment.
* Capable of working with stakeholders who are not data experts.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Familiarity with agile methodologies.
Job Responsibilities
* Maintenance, development and expansion of multiple operational (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and analytical databases and data storages (Exasol, Redshift).
* Creating and optimising queries to support day-to-day data operations required by Coniq’s applications.
* Collaborate with Data Analysts to transform client data requirements into executable queries.
* Synchronising data between data sources (MySQL, Postgres, 3rd Party data sources, etc.) and data store systems (MySQL, Exasol, Redshift etc.).
* Collaborate with the application development team to build, validate and optimise database interactions, bulk data operations and software deployments.
* Maintaining and evolving data pipelines.
* Maintaining processes to ensure failover, fault tolerance and disaster recovery.
