Ready to build the foundation of your software engineering career in a growth-focused program?Amazon is looking for highly motivated students to join the Jr. Developer Program (JDP).As a Jr. Software Development Engineer (Jr. SDE), you will write real software and collaborate with experienced engineers who provide guidance and opportunities for ownership. As a year‐round intern, you will be fully integrated into a team and regularly contribute to impactful deliverables. Your designs and code will help solve complex technical challenges at Amazon.
The JDP is a year‐round internship program designed to support a strong balance between work and school. You will receive 1:1 mentorship from a full‐time Amazonian for the entirety of your program tenure. Flexible part‐time schedules during the school year and full‐time employment over the summer create an environment where students can succeed both academically and professionally. In Madrid, an established Jr. community fosters meaningful connections between you and your peers.
Our team is currently looking for students to start with our June 2026 cohort. Upon successful completion of the program, the opportunity for full‐time employment may be available at an Amazon corporate site.
Program Highlights
Part‐time work during the school year – 16 hours per week
Full‐time work during the summer – 40 hours per week
1:1 mentoring with an experienced Amazonian
Bi‐annual performance reviews designed to support ongoing growth and development
Qualifications
Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university Bachelor's or Master's degree program
Graduating June 2028 or later
Majoring in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related STEM field
Ability to work year‐round until graduation (part‐time during the school year and full‐time during the summer)
Can start work in June 2026
Must be living within commutable distance to Madrid and willing to work in person year‐round at the Madrid corporate office (no remote or hybrid)
Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, Python, or C++ including object‐oriented design
Previous technical internship(s), if applicable
Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions
Ability to solve complex problems and work through ambiguity
