Within Energy and Chemicals, Kline partners with national oil companies, refiners, petrochemical producers, and downstream participants to deliver market intelligence, forecasting models, country-level analysis, and strategic advisory services.
The role is to accelerate growth in our Beauty and Wellbeing Advisory Services business. Our Practice primarily focuses on such specialty sectors as professional salon hair care, nail care, skin care or scalp care. In personal care, we cover sectors of beauty devices, beauty nutrition or cannabis beauty.
This role is designed for a hunter—a highly driven, persistent, and commercially aggressive sales professional who thrives on opening doors, uncovering unmet client needs, and converting complex opportunities into high value advisory engagements.
The BDM will be responsible for originating and closing new advisory business with global and regional beauty, personal care, and wellbeing companies. Success in this role requires strong discovery skills, the ability to independently shape and write compelling proposals, and the credibility to sell consultative, insight driven solutions to senior stakeholders. Candidates who can bring an existing book of business and active client relationships are strongly preferred.
This role works both independently and collaboratively, partnering with advisory leaders and consulting teams to design winning solutions while maintaining full ownership of the sales process.
Key Responsibilities
New Business Origination & Sales
* Proactively identify, prospect, and secure new advisory clients within the beauty, personal care, and wellbeing industry.
* Act as a hunter, aggressively pursuing new opportunities through outbound efforts, networking, referrals, and industry presence.
* Re-engage dormant or lapsed accounts and convert them into active advisory clients.
* Build and maintain a robust, qualified pipeline focused on high-value, custom advisory engagements.
Client Discovery & Solution Development
* Lead in-depth client discovery to identify strategic, commercial, and organizational needs.
* Translate client challenges into clearly defined advisory opportunities and tailored solutions.
* Independently scope, structure, and write proposals, including objectives, methodology, timelines, and commercial terms.
* Position advisory offerings as strategic, insight-led, and differentiated versus traditional research or data products.
Deal Management & Closing
* Own the full sales cycle—from first contact through negotiation and close.
* Confidently engage senior decision makers (VP, SVP, C-suite) and manage complex buying groups.
* Negotiate contracts and pricing to achieve revenue, margin, and growth targets.
Collaboration & Internal Partnership
* Partner closely with advisory leadership and consulting teams to ensure feasibility, alignment, and excellence in solution design.
* Serve as the commercial bridge between clients and internal delivery teams.
* Contribute market intelligence and client insights to inform service development and go-to-market strategy.
Qualifications & Experience
* 7+ years of B2B sales or business development experience, ideally within consulting, advisory, market intelligence, or professional services.
* Proven success as a hunter selling custom, high value solutions (not transactional or purely product based sales).
* Demonstrated ability to uncover client needs, shape advisory solutions, and close complex deals.
* Strong proposal writing and commercial storytelling skills.
* Existing book of business or transferable client relationship within beauty, personal care, consumer, or adjacent industries is a strong advantage.
* Deep understanding of the global beauty and wellbeing landscape preferred.
* Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
* Comfortable working independently while collaborating with cross functional, international teams.
