Specialist Business Analyst (f/m/d) – Billing, Tax & Global Project Migration at IONOS.
Location: Alcobendas, Community of Madrid, Spain.
Responsibilities
* Analyse end‑to‑end Billing, Invoicing, Accounts Receivable, and Tax Determination processes.
* Identify weaknesses across data and process flows and propose improvements.
* Assess and optimise data transfers between ERP/Billing systems and the Vertex Tax Engine.
* Configure, test, and maintain the Vertex Tax Engine (O/Q Series).
* Translate legal and tax changes into Vertex rule sets.
* Troubleshoot incorrect tax calculations and optimise tax‑related logic.
* Lead functional decision‑making and define migration rules for the global billing & accounting harmonisation.
* Coordinate migration tasks, report progress, and maintain documentation.
* Collaborate with local teams worldwide to understand existing processes and align them with the global model.
* Act as key contact for migration topics and support the team lead when required.
* Translate Finance/Accounting/Tax requirements into technical specifications.
* Support integration of new products and countries into unified billing and ERP platforms.
* Ensure compliance with legal and internal audit requirements and create reporting concepts.
* Act as a bridge between business stakeholders, tax experts, developers, and senior management.
* Communicate decisions, project updates, and risks clearly and proactively.
Qualifications
* 4+ years in Business Analysis, Billing/AR, Tax Technology, or Data/ERP migrations.
* Strong background in Billing, Invoicing, AR, and/or Tax Determination.
* Hands‑on experience with Vertex (TPC, TPD, Tax Assist Rules) is a major plus.
* Solid knowledge of ERP systems (SAP FI/CO, Infor LN, or similar).
* Basic understanding of SQL or script logic.
* Experience in agile environments (Scrum/Kanban) and familiarity with JIRA.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
* Detail‑oriented with strong commitment to tax accuracy and audit reliability.
* Adaptable, proactive, and comfortable leading through complexity.
* English C1 or higher.
