PASTRY CHEF ROLE: TEMPORARY CULINARY ARTIST | KIMPTON LOS MONTEROS MARBELLA
Kimpton Los Monteros Marbella, part of the respected IHG hotel family, is seeking a talented and energetic Pastry Chef for a crucial full-time, temporary substitution role. This position places the Pastry Chef at the forefront of our culinary operation in Marbella, Spain. Consequently, you will help us maintain our reputation for excellence and unique dining experiences.
We are looking for a dedicated Head Baker who can immediately step in and lead production, manage quality control, and maintain consistency during this key operational period.
1. LEADERSHIP AND PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT
This role requires strong leadership and meticulous oversight. First, you will support the Hotel Pastry Chef. Furthermore, you actively manage the daily flow of the department:
Production Oversight: You are responsible for assembling and preparing all desserts and pastry products. Therefore, you must ensure high quality, creativity, and consistency in every dish served.
Team Training: You train and supervise other colleagues daily in both production tasks and departmental functions.
Workflow Management: You assign daily production and non-production tasks (e.g., refilling products, cleaning) to the team and ensure they are completed efficiently and on time.
2. QUALITY CONTROL AND HYGIENE STANDARDS
Maintaining exceptional hygiene and safety standards is non-negotiable within the Kimpton brand.
Food Safety: You confirm that your team prepares, handles, and stores all food according to strict food safety standards and HACCP regulations.
Inventory Control: You assist in managing stock levels and quality checking incoming ingredients.
Standard Adherence: You maintain attention to detail and ability to consistently meet the high aesthetic and operational standards required by a luxury hotel.
3. CANDIDATE PROFILE AND BENEFITS
3.1. Required Experience and Skills
Experience: You must have or more years of experience as a pastry chef in a hotel or gastronomic restaurant environment.
Certification: HACCP (APPCC) certification or related food safety areas is mandatory.
Education: A Degree in Culinary Arts, Pastry, or similar is preferred.
