The Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled Software Developer focused on Backend development to join our team. The role involves developing platform services and integrations with an emphasis on extensibility, throughput, and scalability. Responsibilities include writing tested code, participating in peer code reviews, ensuring smooth CI/CD deployment, and following Agile methodologies.
Responsibilities
* Develop platform services and integrations considering extensibility, throughput, and scalability.
* Ensure code is covered with tests.
* Participate in pair reviews before merging code.
* Own your code and be responsible for deployment to production.
* Follow Agile principles, breaking work into small increments to add value sooner.
* Use metrics to guide development and validate functionalities.
* Work with CI/CD pipelines to automate deployments.
Requirements
* Extensive experience with object-oriented programming, especially Java.
* Strong SQL knowledge, ideally with Oracle.
* Experience with cloud-native environments, preferably GCP and Kubernetes.
* Experience building REST APIs for high availability and scalability.
* Knowledge of performance tuning and analysis tools.
* Background in Computer Science or STEM fields is a plus but not mandatory.
* Proactive attitude, writing clean, maintainable code.
* Comfortable with Git or similar version control systems.
* Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and eagerness to learn daily.
* Proven experience with high-volume eCommerce or web applications is preferred.
