We are seeking a Senior Controller and Accountant Specialist based in Madrid, primarily overseeing Nippon Gases' operations in Germany. This role involves supporting senior management with financial insights, performance analysis, and decision-making, acting as a key link between finance and business teams to drive performance and accountability. The position reports directly to the Finance Director in Dusseldorf, providing guidance and support to succeed.
Key Responsibilities :
* Serve as a financial partner to the business, offering guidance aligned with company goals and supporting decision-making through cost/benefit analysis.
* Collaborate with business leaders to enhance profitability and cash flow.
* Monitor financial KPIs and oversee closing activities, analyzing business development.
* Assist with accounting and tax analysis and assessments.
* Support preparation of business cases for investments and projects.
* Lead finance aspects of M&A projects, including due diligence, valuation, negotiations, and post-merger integration.
* Develop financial models with FP&A to assist in budgeting, forecasting, and planning.
* Coordinate with FP&A, accounting, and tax teams to ensure accurate reporting and compliance.
Background
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
Required Skills :
* Fluent in German and English (both written and spoken).
* Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and business acumen.
* Ability to work independently and influence stakeholders at all levels.
* Proficient in Excel; experience with SAP, FCCS/PBCS, Hyperion, Power BI, and M&A modeling is a plus.
* Critical thinking, quick learner, and creative problem solver.
Preferred Qualifications :
* Master's or MBA degree.
* CPA, ACCA, or ACA certification.
* Industry experience, especially in finance or controlling.
Additional Information :
* Travel up to 20% may be required.
