To help us achieve this, we’re seeking an enthusiastic Safety Specialist.
With your bias for action, you will step in and support the Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) team. The successful candidate will be an experienced, innovative, and hands‑on individual who is passionate about health and safety in a professional context. You’ll need to identify, coordinate and drive improvements in safety while engaging operational and other support function stakeholders. The Safety Specialist will report directly to the North Region Senior WHS Manager.
Key Job Responsibilities
 * Assist with the delivery of safety performance and monitoring, in line with personnel, team and functional goals and objectives.
 * Facilitate and/or arrange training programs on critical Delivery Station and Regional WHS issues.
 * Support the implementation of WHS programs within AMZL Operations, while delivering key risk assessment activities within the Region.
 * Drive compliance with local and EU legislation.
 * Ensure that WHS systems are kept accurate at all times, with completed incident reports and supporting documentation.
 * Assist the North Region Senior WHS Manager with the construction of incident prevention programs.
 * Contribute to AMZL requests for improvement of on‑site safety and positively impact accident trends within the Region.
 * Prepare responses to insurers or solicitors in response to any personal injury claims.
 * Assist with the coordination and training of new Health and Safety team members.
 * Act as a proxy for the North Region Senior WHS Manager when required.
 * Arrange, facilitate and contribute to AMZL Safety Steering Committee meetings.
 * Arrange and conduct surveys and checks in the AMZL environment, looking into facility processes, Health and Safety supplies, and employee behaviours.
Qualifications
 * Experience in workplace health & safety (WHS) related field.
 * Experience maintaining confidentiality in matters involving security or personnel issues in the workplace.
 * A Bachelor degree or equivalent qualification in line with the European Qualifications Framework (EQF).
 * Must be a Técnico Superior en PRL (3 Specialties). Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of essential Environment, Health and Safety legislation.
 * C1 English level.
 * Experience in emergency response.
