DIGIC has been making 3D animated films for more than twenty years. We have won numerous prestigious awards and created short films for world-renowned brands such as Call of Duty, Netflix's Love, Death & Robots and Amazon's Secret Level series.
Our team is currently working on several high-profile projects, including the animated film series based on the world-famous card game MAGIC: THE GATHERING for Netflix.
About the Role
We’re looking for skilled Mid-level and Senior ENVIRONMENT ARTISTS with a background in stylized projects to join our team. As an Environment Artist at DIGIC, you’ll work on a high-quality full-CG animated series, creating stylized environments — from individual assets to complete scenes — under the guidance of the project’s Art Director and Supervisor.
Responsibilities
* Create stylized 3D environments and assets — including hard surface elements, vegetation, terrain, and architecture — that fit seamlessly into the overall visual style
* Collaborate directly with the project art director and leads to stay aligned with the artistic goals
* Deliver assets on time and at the expected quality level, while respecting scope and resources
* Iterate based on feedback and evolving production needs
Qualifications
* 2+ years of experience for mid-level, or 4+ years for senior Environment Artist, with a strong portfolio of stylized CG work
Required Skills
* Proficiency in 3D modeling tools (e.g., Maya, 3ds Max, Blender) and texturing tools (e.g., Photoshop, Substance Painter)
* Familiarity with rendering engines (e.g., Arnold, V-Ray)
* Strong communication and collaboration skills
* Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
* Passion for crafting visually compelling, stylized environments
* Experience with hand-painted texturing
Preferred Skills
* Experience with stylized matte painting workflows
* Stylized environment work in your portfolio is a strong advantage
What we offer
* Remote, freelancer contract if you are located within 2 hours time zone difference from Budapest or employment contract in Hungary
* Freelancers must be officially registered as sole proprietors or self-employed professionals to be eligible to work with DIGIC.
