**About the Role**
As **Carpenter**at **Mandarin Oriental Ritz, Madrid**, within the **Engineering team**, is responsible for ensuring timely and cost-efficient maintenance and repairs across the hotel’s facilities. Reporting to the ADOE/DOE, you will follow work orders and preventive maintenance plans, maintain accurate technical records and contribute to a safe, well-maintained environment.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Being responsible for the correct maintenance of engineering facilities; carrying out all repairs in a timely manner both inside and outside the hotel and on any other items related to hotel operations.
- Working collaboratively with other members of the engineering team and hotel colleagues, promoting teamwork, efficiency, quality and cost awareness.
- Attending mandatory training courses as directed by the company.
- Performing monthly inspections of equipment according to received instructions.
- Complying with all established employee policies.
- Reading the Engineering Logbook daily and taking the necessary actions as required.
- Preparing written recommendations to the ADOE/DOE regarding replacement of inefficient or obsolete equipment.
- Executing the tasks detailed in work orders, the PRP schedule, room maintenance lists and any other reporting methods in the most practical, skilful and economical way possible.
- Reporting immediately to the ADOE/DOE any unusual situation relating to engineering operations, physical facilities or personnel.
- Attending meetings as required.
- Fostering a positive and pleasant working environment among colleagues.
- Carrying out inventories of spare parts/consumables when required and maintaining minimum stock levels by issuing purchase requests to the store administrator.
- Complying with all company rules, regulations and policies.
- Respecting and promoting Mandarin Oriental’s Core Competencies, pillars and LQEs (Legendary Quality Experiences).
- Performing any other reasonable duties requested by the manager.
- Maintaining and keeping up to date all COSHH data sheets (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) and risk assessments.

- Proven experience as a carpenter, preferably in hotels or similar environments.
- Solid knowledge of repair and maintenance of furniture, fittings and flooring.
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities with a practical, hands-on approach.
- Highly responsible, reliable and detail-oriented.
- Proactive attitude and ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary engineering team.
