Chef – Sea Recovery (Sotogrande – San Roque)
Role Overview
The Cook at Sea Recovery is responsible for preparing healthy, high-quality meals that support clients’ recovery, comfort, and wellbeing. This role blends culinary skill with hospitality, nutritional awareness, and a premium service mindset. Working within a luxury, discreet residential environment, the Cook ensures that each client receives personalised, nourishing meals aligned with their preferences, dietary needs, and overall wellness goals.
Key Responsibilities
1. Meal Planning & Preparation
Prepare daily breakfast, lunch, dinner, and nutritious snacks of high culinary standard. Create menus that are balanced, wellness-oriented, and seasonally inspired. Adapt meals to individual client dietary requirements (gluten-free, lactose-free, vegan, low-sugar, low-inflammation, etc.). Ensure the presentation of meals reflects the premium nature of Sea Recovery’s service.
2. Client-Centred Culinary Experience
Personalise dishes based on client preferences, allergies, cultural considerations, and recovery needs. Communicate courteously with clients regarding food choices, dislikes, and special requests. Provide a warm, discreet dining experience while maintaining professional boundaries.
3. Nutrition & Wellness Alignment
Incorporate wellness-oriented principles (clean eating, anti-inflammatory ingredients, hydration, gut-healthy choices). Maintain awareness of how food supports emotional balance, energy levels, and recovery routines. Work collaboratively with external nutritionists or wellness practitioners if needed.
4. Kitchen Management
Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring a clean, organised, and safe working environment. Plan and manage grocery shopping, stock rotation, and inventory control. Ensure all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards are strictly followed (HACCP compliance). Maintain cost-effective purchasing without compromising quality.
5. Premium Hospitality Standards
Ensure meal delivery is timely, elegant, and aligned with Sea Recovery’s luxury standards. Support the preparation of special meals for occasions, client arrivals, or wellness rituals. Work harmoniously with household staff, support workers, and management to support a serene residential atmosphere.
6. Flexibility & Adaptability
Adjust meal timings, menus, or service style to accommodate client schedules, excursions, or treatment appointments. Prepare meals for off-site activities when required (picnics, beach days, excursions). Handle last-minute dietary changes or emerging client preferences with ease and professionalism.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Proven experience as a private chef, cook, or culinary professional in premium hospitality, wellness retreats, villas, or boutique hotels. Strong knowledge of healthy cuisine, Mediterranean cooking, and modern wellness-oriented dietary styles. Certification or training in food safety and hygiene (HACCP or equivalent). Ability to create menus that are both nourishing and visually appealing. Experience working with high-net-worth clients is a strong advantage. Driving licence beneficial (for shopping and errands). English required; Spanish an advantage.

Working Conditions
Based in Sea Recovery’s private residence in Sotogrande – San Roque. Flexible schedule depending on client programme and mealtimes. Occasional weekend or evening shifts depending on client intake. Close collaboration with the Operations Manager and household team.
