As the Category Manager at zooplus, you will develop and execute a comprehensive annual category strategy to drive growth. This includes planning local campaigns and promotions, aligning strategies with the broader country or cluster plans, and collaborating with teams such as Visual Merchandising, Marketing, Pricing, and CRM based on local market insights.
You will need a deep understanding of category dynamics—customer behavior, market trends, and competitors—to identify growth opportunities and address challenges. Continuous analysis of KPIs related to sales, categories, customers, and products will be essential to optimize performance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Pricing: Recommend adjustments and exceptions to local prices based on global strategies, focusing on OBF and business sources.
* Promotions: Create a yearly promo plan aligned with category dynamics and collaborate with central and local teams; monitor campaign performance and budget.
* Shelf Management: Contribute to product sorting strategies, up-selling, cross-selling initiatives, and ensure category content quality and visibility, especially for OBF.
KPIs:
* Revenue and margin of the category, brands, and products
* Market share, customer acquisition, and retention
* Promotion effectiveness and budget efficiency
* Availability and out-of-stock rates
* Traffic and conversion rates
This role is based in our Madrid office, with a hybrid work environment (60% onsite, 40% remote).
Qualifications:
* Experience in FMCG/e-Commerce, preferably in the pet sector
* Strong commercial, technical, and analytical skills
* Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
* Customer-focused with market trend awareness
* Fluent in English and native Italian
* Results-oriented and hardworking
