Supervisor, campus store

Reporting to the Operations Manager, Campus Services, the Supervisor, Campus Store & Course Materials plays a key role in achieving goals and objectives through the supervision of Sheridan's Campus Store, retail-on-campus, and online stores. The incumbent leads and develops retail products that meet College and department goals, manages multiple retail locations and product categories, and optimizes selling space, inventory, sales mix, order completion, and service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

* Developing strategic and operational plans for the unit and aligning resources to meet priorities.
* Providing excellent customer service through prompt, reliable service standards and effective communication with students, faculty, staff, alumni, and visitors.
* Fostering partnerships and collaborations across campuses to drive sales and revenue growth.
* Selecting, purchasing, and planning Course Materials for resale, ensuring alignment with annual purchasing plans and stakeholder needs.
* Reviewing inventory levels to ensure accuracy, competitiveness, and alignment with customer needs and emerging products.
* Maintaining vendor relationships to exceed customer expectations and upholding security protocols for retail goods.
* Effectively allocating resources within the store's operations, monitoring financial performance, and reporting to the Director.
* Monitoring key metrics, including profit margins, expenses, inventory turnover, and benchmarking data.
* Implementing marketing, communication, and operational strategies for Campus Services.
* Contributing to budget preparation and updating operational plans, including goal setting and cost projections.
* Maintaining the security of retail goods and ensuring accurate Point of Sale transactions.
* Leading year-end inventory counts and reconciling sales, deposits, and financial data.
* Guiding and supporting staff and student employees to foster growth, collaboration, and high performance.
* Overseeing HR activities such as recruitment, performance management, and training in compliance with policies and agreements.
* Collaborating with the Director to develop strategic plans for course materials aligned with retail goals and the College's mission.
* Performing additional projects and duties as assigned by the Director.

Requirements

* 3-year college diploma or university degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a related field.
* Proven experience in marketing or entrepreneurial initiatives with various stakeholders.
* Excellent sales and negotiation skills.
* Operational leadership experience.
* Strong financial accounting and analysis skills.
* Knowledge of Course Material/Retail Point of Sale systems and Bookware.
* Experience working in a post-secondary setting with senior leaders, staff, and students.
