Context And Mission
The High-Performance Embedded Systems (HPES) Laboratory at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center aims at carrying out research on bringing HPC technologies to systems with some form of criticality, namely safety, mission and security. This includes domains such as automotive, space, avionics, robotics, manufacturing, etc. Our work is mainly done in the context of bilateral projects with several EU companies as well as several European-funded projects. The objective of this position is to research in the application of hardware traffic injection for testing, as well as safety and security purposes in the context of a PhD degree.
Key Duties
* Improve the design of a hardware traffic injector in SystemVerilog
* Use the traffic injector for tasks such as debugging of components, and detect malicious activities.
Requirements
* Education
o Master in the broad field of Computer Sciences and Electronics
* Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience
o Wide experience developing traffic injectors at SystemVerilog, Verilog or VHDL
o Experience working on FPGA-based hardware designs
o Skilled working on hardware prototypes based on RISC-V ISA
o At least 3 publications in relevant conferences and journals in the domain
* Additional Knowledge and Professional Experience
o Experience in electronics
o Experience in embedded systems
* Competences
o Problem-solving, pro-active, result-oriented work attitude
o Good communication skills including a good command of the English language (written and spoken)

* The position will be located at BSC within the Computer Sciences Department
