Overview
We are looking to hire a motivated Build Lead to join our growing Infrastructure Delivery team. The role encompasses end-to-end ownership of medium to large‑scale Data Center deployments including migrations, new sites, and new regions. The Build Lead will handle equipment and resource planning, installation, validation, and capacity turn‑up, work with project stakeholders and vendors, perform racking, networking, cabling, device configuration with automation tools, and conduct stress testing and troubleshooting before delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Initial equipment and resource planning, installation, and capacity turn‑up.
- Planning with project stakeholders to determine device and cabling requirements, scheduling resources, engaging external vendors, and continuous status reporting.
- Racking, stacking, and installing networking devices; running and patching cabling.
- Configuring devices using automation tools and the command line interface.
- Validating deployments, troubleshooting devices, and stress testing prior to capacity delivery.
- Creating comprehensive documentation for completed deployments and handing over to operations teams.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience in computer networking.
- Experience working with Linux operating systems.
- Ability to lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds.
- Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure.
- Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system.
- Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.
- Experience working in a data center environment (racking and stacking gear, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment).
- Ability to work in cramped spaces or elevated locations while adhering to health and safety guidelines.
