By combining capital, carbon certification, and agronomic expertise, InSoil enables investors and farmers to drive meaningful climate impact and financial returns.Job SummaryThe Project Development Director will lead the full lifecycle development of Improved Agricultural Land Management (IALM) projects under the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS), Climate, Community & Biodiversity (CCB) standards, within the Voluntary Carbon Market (VCM). This role involves driving projects from early-stage feasibility through to carbon credit issuance and monitoring periods. Responsibilities include managing all phases of project development—scoping, feasibility, documentation, validation, verification, and compliance with evolving methodologies. The Director will coordinate across data science, agronomy, MMRV, farmer engagement, business development, and marketing teams, while engaging externally with validation/verification bodies, consultants, and stakeholders. Success requires strategic foresight, process leadership, and up-to-date knowledge of carbon market regulations and methodologies.Key ResponsibilitiesProject Coordination & Management :
Lead day-to-day development of IALM carbon projects ensuring compliance with VCS and CCB standards. Track progress, adapt roadmaps, and manage cross-functional collaboration. Facilitate internal check-ins and stakeholder meetings.Documentation & Compliance :
Oversee preparation of project documentation including Project Descriptions and Monitoring Reports. Ensure adherence to standards and maintain audit-ready records.Stakeholder Engagement :
Act as the main contact for internal teams and external partners. Communicate project updates and respond to inquiries regarding compliance, risks, and milestones.Monitoring & Data Management :
Collaborate with data and agronomy teams to review field data and remote sensing insights. Ensure data quality and track carbon outcomes.Strategic Insight & Market Intelligence :
Monitor changes in methodologies and market trends. Share updates and identify opportunities for project optimization.Team Development & Process Optimization :
Support onboarding, improve internal systems, and contribute to knowledge-building on AFOLU, carbon markets, and best practices.Candidate ProfileExperience & Background :
Proven track record managing 3–5+ land-based carbon projects under VCS, with expertise in AFOLU project development within agriculture and soil carbon. Familiarity with carbon accounting and methodologies like VCS, Gold Standard, CCB, or CRCF.Education :
Bachelor's or Master’s in Environmental Science, Agronomy, Sustainability, Engineering, Business, or related fields. Quantitative/technical training is a plus.Technical Skills :
Deep understanding of GHG accounting frameworks, carbon MMRV systems, and experience with digital monitoring technologies and remote sensing.Project Leadership :
Ability to manage multi-stakeholder projects, facilitate coordination, and translate technical details into actionable workflows.Soft Skills :
