About BSC
The Barcelona Supercomputing Center – Centro Nacional de Supercomputación (BSC-CNS) is the leading supercomputing centre in Spain. It houses MareNostrum, one of Europe’s most powerful super‑computers, and is a founding and hosting member of the former European HPC infrastructure PRACE. BSC combines HPC service provision and R&D into computer and computational science, currently with over 1000 staff from 60 countries.
Context and Mission
The exponential growth of RISC‑V in the market drives our commitment to its adoption. BSC has developed a comprehensive Intellectual Property Rights strategy based on three pillars: exploitable research results, portfolio management, and technology transfer. The HI4CA research project focuses on open‑hardware technologies, especially RISC‑V, for high‑performance computing.
Key Duties
* Register and protect BSC HPC Architecture research projects’ results.
* Identify and track BSC technologies in collaboration with other BSC groups.
* Assess protection strategy and support registration via Intellectual Property Disclosure Form.
* Maintain and update the BSC portfolio of Open Hardware technologies.
* Dynamise the portfolio, identify potential market sectors, and support networking with industry.
* Improve communication channels between researchers and potential adopters.
* Support industrial outreach of RISC‑V and Open Source Hardware activities with the regional HPC ecosystem.
* Strengthen communication and working methodologies among the HPC Architecture area and TTO.
Requirements
* Computer Science Engineering degree or similar (telecommunications, electronics, etc.).
* Experience with the open‑source ecosystem is a plus.
* Knowledge of innovation management, technology transfer, finance, and business management is a plus.
* Fluency in English; fluency in Spanish and Catalan is a plus.
* Familiarity with deep tech, innovation, and entrepreneurship ecosystems is a plus.
* Knowledge of IPR management is a plus.
* International experience.
* Teamwork, communication, interpersonal skills.
* Enthusiasm, autonomy, commitment, motivation, leadership, creativity.
Conditions
* Required to work at BSC in the Directors Department.
* Full‑time contract (37.5h/week) with flexible working hours, extensive training, restaurant tickets, private health insurance and relocation support.
* Open‑ended contract tied to project and budget duration.
* Holidays: 22 days + 6 personal days + 24th/31st December per collective agreement.
* Competitive salary commensurate with experience and cost of living.
* Start date: ASAP.

The recruitment process consists of a competitive examination system (Concurso‑Oposición) with two phases: curriculum analysis (40 points) and interview (60 points). A minimum of 30 points is required for eligibility.
