Job Description
As a key member of a Group internal audit team, the Senior Internal Auditor is responsible for executing risk-based internal audit assignments across SGS operations. This includes operational, financial, and compliance reviews, post-acquisition audits, and special projects. The role ensures that audits are conducted in accordance with the Internal Audit Manual and the Global Internal Audit Standards issued by The Institute of Internal Auditors.
Responsibilities:
Audit Execution
1. Participate in the planning, execution, and completion of internal audit assignments under the direction of the Audit Team Leader or Audit Director
2. Perform audit procedures, including walkthroughs, control design and operating effectiveness testing, and substantive testing
3. Identify control weaknesses, risk exposures, and improvement opportunities, and support root‑cause analysis
4. Apply sound professional judgment and ensure audit work is supported by sufficient and appropriate evidence
5. Document audit work clearly and consistently in accordance with audit methodology and quality requirements
Reporting & Communication
6. Contribute to the preparation of clear, concise, and well‑structured audit findings and reports
7. Discuss observations and proposed recommendations with auditees in a constructive and professional manner
8. Escalate significant issues, risks to the Audit Team Leader in a timely manner
Stakeholder Interaction
9. Interact professionally with auditees during fieldwork, including interviews and testing activities
10. Support effective communication between the audit team and management throughout the engagement
Continuous Improvement
11. Contribute to the improvement of audit practices, tools, templates, and ways of working
12. Share best practices and knowledge within the internal audit team
13. Stay informed of developments in auditing standards, risk management, and internal control practices
Qualifications
14. University degree in accounting, business, finance, or related discipline.
15. Four to six years of experience in external or internal audit roles, ideally including industry experience in assurance, control, or risk.
16. Professional certification such as CIA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent strongly preferred.
17. Understanding of control frameworks (, COSO), risk management principles, and internal audit best practices.
18. Strong ethical values and the ability to work in a confidential environment.
19. 4 years of experience in Testing Inspection and Certification (TIC) industry, or in external / internal audit, or relevant managerial experience in a finance or non‑financial operational role
20. High ethical standards, sound judgment, and the ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion
21. Sound knowledge of internal control principles, risk management, and governance frameworks
22. Professional certification such as CIA, CPA, or equivalent is an advantage
