Description
As part of a small, passionate, and highly skilled team, you will assemble, align, and test advanced free-space laser systems that enable cutting-edge scientific research around the world. Beyond production, you will have the opportunity to contribute to process improvement, procurement, and continuous optimization of our products, as well as travel internationally to support system installation, maintenance, and on-site service for leading research institutions.
Responsibilities
* Assemble and test mechanical, optical, and electronic subsystems following engineering documentation, drawings, and specifications, ensuring high quality and repeatability.
* Align and optimize complex free-space laser systems, and characterize beam performance using advanced diagnostic tools such as autocorrelators, beam profilers, spectrometers, and power meters.
* Provide technical service and support for installed systems, both remotely and on-site, including troubleshooting, fault diagnosis, repair, maintenance, and implementation of corrective actions based on root-cause analysis.
* Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on product quality, manufacturing efficiency, and process optimization.
Requirements
The successful candidate shall have:
1) A Physics or Engineering University degree would be preferrable.
2) Basic computer skills such as Windows, Microsoft Office, etc..
3) Mechanical and electronic workshop experience.
4) Strong verbal and written skills in English.
5) Readiness to travel including weekends if/when necessary.
Preference with also be given to candidates with the following skills:
6) Hands-on experience with lasers or experimental optical set-ups.
7) Programming with LabView and other similar technical software.
