System Field Service Engineer – Madrid, Spain & Portugal Service group.
Provide after‑sale support to Emerson Automation Solutions customers for Control Systems and Software (CSS), including first line maintenance, repair, site installation, commissioning and start‑up.
Responsibilities
Assist customers in resolving product and application problems for DeltaV and Ovation Control Systems.
Act as first customer contact during project warranty and after‑warranty period, as a team member or independently.
Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve issues identified in customer installations across DeltaV, Ovation, third‑party connectivity products, cyber‑security products, and Windows system installations, working independently or under minimal supervision.
Perform services on site and remotely, scheduled and on‑call.
Execute DCS migrations, evergreens, services, and small projects independently or under minimal supervision.
Initiate and coordinate support from the Emerson Regional/Global Support Centers when necessary.
Act as commissioning Lead Engineer to carry out installation/commissioning, develop and implement product/system configuration changes at site to meet customer requirements.
Assist Sales Engineers in demonstrating Emerson Automation Solutions products to potential customers and provide guidance in product application and post‑sales service.
Provide on‑site customer training in the application, service and operation of Emerson Automation Solutions products.
Qualifications
Degree in an engineering discipline (industrial, computer science, control systems or automation) – minimum technical college level.
Minimum 5 years of experience as a Service or Instrument Engineer in a process control or power plant environment, with emphasis on installation, commissioning and start‑up.
Good understanding and experience of programming and IT/OT systems.
Strong communication skills and technical competencies relevant to the responsibilities.
Fluency in Spanish and English (written and spoken).
Valid driving licence and willingness to travel.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in power generation or industrial processes.
Experience repairing and servicing DeltaV and Ovation Control Systems.
Experience with other Distributed Control Systems or PLCs.
Good understanding of C&I theory, including control loop configuration and tuning. xpzdshu
