Global Commodity Professional for Application Management Services (m/f/d)

We are looking for a global commodity professional in Horizontal IT who will be responsible for strategic IT Procurement activities, mainly Application Management Services (AMS). The role focuses on achieving optimum conditions on an excellent supplier base through pooling volumes and common strategies. Strong & close alignment with Global Commodity Management.
The role requires a strong ability to develop and maintain key relationships across the Siemens organization, establish and manage supplier relationships, and to interact and communicate effectively with Siemens management. You must be capable of self‑managing your workload, managing multiple projects in parallel, setting target dates, meeting deadlines, following processes, and developing project roadmaps to achieve optimum results.

* You will bring a forward‑thinking perspective to sourcing strategies, identifying opportunities where AI and automation enhance procurement efficiency and supplier performance.
* You will continuously improve and develop our IT value sourcing concept and the associated IT consulting/AMS sourcing strategy.
* Based on IT strategy and requirements, you derive the best possible sourcing strategy for respective technologies and areas, translating the global strategy into local requirements in collaboration with regional/country procurements.
* In stakeholder/customer management, you act as a demand manager, defining participation levels, stakeholder engagement plans, and engagement processes (preparation, planning, design, commitment, evaluation, application).
* You take over supplier management, including supplier selection, 360° review of IT value sourcing suppliers, and promotion of supplier development with IT stakeholders.
* You conduct annual price negotiations for rate cards for selected countries, extend or update existing master agreements, and handle tenders and negotiations for projects.
* You promote strategic projects with global impact to industrialize the AMS procurement function, conduct pilot projects, and support roll‑out in selected regions and countries.
Who are we looking for?
* You have successfully completed a degree in industrial engineering, business informatics, business administration, or a comparable field.
* You bring professional experience in IT procurement or a related function, ideally in a multinational environment.
* You have in-depth knowledge of the IT provider market in IT commodities: software engineering, IT consulting, and Application Management Services (AMS).
* You have deep experience in procurement processes and can quickly adapt to Siemens internal procurement tools and workflows.
* You are confident in engaging with stakeholders at all levels and across cultures, and you communicate clearly and assertively in English and German.
* You are a critical thinker who anticipates challenges and proposes innovative solutions.
* You are forward‑looking, comfortable working with emerging technologies such as AI, and understand their impact on IT sourcing strategies, supplier performance, cost structures, and overall procurement effectiveness.
* You are not afraid to speak up and challenge the status quo when needed.
