is looking for a
Business Development and Strategy Senior Analyst
based out of
MADRID
The aim of the role is to support the Head of Santander Corporate & Investment Bank (SCIB) to deliver the strategic agenda of the division, leading strategic projects and activities required to govern the division on an ongoing basis.

1.- Contribute to the
strategic agenda
of the division and take responsibility for delivering projects.
Participate / support the global strategic planning processes for SCIB (global strategic and budgeting plans - 1-3-5 years planning)
Lead, oversee and monitor the development of the business strategic projects/initiatives of the division. Close collaboration and proactivity to engage with SCIB leadership team to push local and global SCIB initiatives by product and geography.
Significant engagement with senior stakeholders at all levels is required, as well as leadership experience to prioritize competing demands and deliver to tight timeframes.
2.- Provide
support to the Head of SCIB in his leadership role, preparing for Senior Management presentations (Board of Directors, Executive Committee…), and preparing for client and employee interactions.
3.- Ensure the appropriate
execution of the internal governance procedures .

Professional Experience
Experience in consulting or auditing firm
Experience in banking, preferably in Corporate & Investment Banking (Preferred)
Experience in Santander Corporate & Investment Banking or strong familiarity with SCIB’s products and governance (Preferred)
Exposure to cross-functional initiatives and senior management interactions (e.g., Steering Committees, Executive updates, governance forums)
Education
Degree in Economics, Business, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics or related fields.
Master’s in Finance or other relevant Master’s degree (e.g., Business Analytics, Management, Strategy) (Preferred)
Languages
English and Spanish – strong written and verbal communication skills.
Hard Skills
Strong problem-solving, numerical, analytical and critical thinking skills.
Solid project management capabilities (planning, prioritization, execution follow-up, delivery under tight deadlines)
Advanced Microsoft Office skills (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) and ability to prepare executive-ready materials
Knowledge of Accounting Standards and Capital Regulation (e.g., IFRS, CRR/CRD) (Preferred)
Soft Skills
Proactive, creative and results-oriented mindset with strong ownership
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams
High attention to detail with the ability to maintain a holistic view
