**BUNGE**has an exciting opportunity available for a **Project Process engineer Renewable Fuels** in Cartagena.
Reporting to the Plant Project Manager, you will be responsible for performing complex assignments on renewable fuel projects in the Spanish region, often involving the development of new or improved products, processes, or techniques. This includes assessing the feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering tests, products, and equipment. You will coordinate the planning, organization, and implementation of engineering projects within defined objectives and target dates, interpreting engineering principles, theories, and concepts broadly. Furthermore, you will develop and synergize with technology partners to enhance capacity, optimize the portfolio mix, and achieve optimum manufacturing. Implementing both new and existing technologies at the plant/project level, from concept to implementation and startup, will be a key function. This requires collaboration with internal and external teams throughout all project phases, encompassing scope creation, budgeting, project management, construction, startup, and troubleshooting. You will also guarantee that Bunge's processes are cost-effective, aligned with current best practices, and deliver value to customers, recommending changes and updates as needed.
**Knowledge and Experience**:
- This position represents that of a ‘professional’ Engineer and is at a higher level than a new Engineering graduate. This level of role requires the jobholder to have 5 years’ highly relevant experience in addition to a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- Would be a member of a large engineering project and/or lead small, relatively straightforward engineering projects.
- Lead Process engineering projects and/or contributes engineering expertise/workstream leadership to larger projects ensuring their successful completion.
- Deep knowledge and expertise in oils chemistry, engineering and operations.
- Lead and/or participate in the resolution of engineering issues such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of standard materials, and other related engineering project issues/challenges.
- Coordinate project activities with other operating or engineering units to facilitate the availability/participation of appropriate staff in local engineering project to ensure their completion in-line with all relevant project deliverables.
- Participate/contribute to engineering projects elsewhere within the organization as necessary.
- Review, maintain and update project-related documentation as necessary to ensure its accuracy and to meet project governance requirements.
- Participate in professional organizations to maintain current knowledge of technical innovations.
- Assist in determining project objectives to contribute to the development of comprehensive project design, ensure optimized cost-effectiveness, integration/alignment with standardized solutions in place elsewhere within Bunge, etc.
- Translate project requirements into detailed actions plans, resource requirements/allocations, expenditure timing, etc., and assign work to others as necessary, monitoring/overseeing progress to ensure that objectives are being met.
- Provides technical direction to project team members.
- Performs conventional, less complex engineering assignments that may involve equipment or product design, testing of materials, preparation of specifications, process studies, or research investigations.
- Selects engineering techniques to solve problems and make design recommendations.
- Travelling availability around 25% of the time.
- The ability to gain various stakeholders’ support for ideas, proposals, and solutions, as well as develop, maintain, and strengthen partnerships with others inside or outside the organization who can provide information, assistance, and support.
