Overview
We are looking for a Junior/Associate Business Analyst with a focus on Tax Technology & Vertex.
Responsibilities
Vertex System Analysis and Configuration: You will analyze, configure, and optimize the Vertex Tax Engine (ideally "O" or "Q" Series) for sales and use tax determination across various jurisdictions.
Integration Analysis: You are responsible for the detailed analysis of data flows between billing systems (e.g., Invoicing) and Vertex to ensure the correct transfer of taxation criteria (ship-to address, product codes, etc.).
Compliance Assurance: You ensure the compliance of our tax logic by translating legal changes, in coordination with the Tax Department, into Vertex rule sets and testing their functionality.
Troubleshooting and Optimization: You identify and resolve complex issues arising from incorrect tax calculations and propose improvements across the entire process chain.
Requirements Management: You create functional specifications for development teams to adapt the interfaces connecting to Vertex.
Expectations / Qualifications
Vertex Experience (Core Focus): Extensive, hands-on experience in the configuration and maintenance of the Vertex Tax Engine (e.g., TPC, TPD, Tax Assist Rules) for automated indirect tax calculation.
ERP Knowledge (Desirable): Solid functional experience with major ERP or financial systems. Experience with Infor LN and/or SAP (FI/CO) within the context of tax integration is a significant advantage.
Analytical Depth: Excellent ability to independently analyze complex billing and tax data flows and identify points of weakness.
Technical Understanding: You can comprehend data mapping and logic within ERP interfaces. Knowledge of reading common code formats (e.g., SQL) is required.
Agile Mindset: Experience and an agile mindset for working in interdisciplinary teams are a plus.
